XC World Cup 2012/2013
World Cup finale in Falun, Sweden.
Last weekend in Fallun, Sweden took place on the last races and at the same scene World Cup cross-country skiing finished.
Alpina racing team has achieved remarkable results and once again proved that the top cross-country ski boot Alpina ELITE PRO is the boot which belong to the champions all over the world.
The greatest success of the XC WC season 2012/13 is certainly a Big crystal globe won by Norwegian Petter Notrhug. With great performances and hard work throug the whole season and finaly with his victory on the last race in Fallun, he clinched the Overall World Cup title. Excellent classification overall has reached the VYLEGZHANIN Maxim (RUS) with the fifth place.
In the women's class, the best results overall reached Norvegian Heidi Weng on the excellent fifth place.
Alpina is really proud on superior Alpina racing boots, wich are the results of our own knowledge, long-term development of racing boots and close cooperation with top class athletes.
The Stockholm classic technique city sprint was the last World Cup sprint of the season. City sprint was the first part of the world Cup final. In the mens class the main focus was on the fight for the World Cup overall victory. Petter Northug, Alexander Legkov (both Alpina racing team) and Dario Cologna were in position for winning the World Cup.
On the last sprint of the season Petter Northug (NOR) won victory. Behind Northug was last year's winner Eirik Brandsdal (NOR) on second place. With Northug's victory he has taken over the Overall World Cup lead from Alexander Legkov. He now leads by 34 points over Legkov.
Last sprint was very seccessful also for other Alpina racing team athletes . Six of them finished among top ten.
In the womens race, Justyna Kowalczyk has already decided the overall World Cup. On the last womens sprint, after miserable fall, Mona Lisa MALVALEHTO, finished on sixth, SMUTNA Katerina on eighth place.
Scandinavian cross country tour in Drammen finished successful for Alpina racing team.
Petter Northug (NOR) won victory in men sprint classic.
Heidi Weng (NOR) and OESTBERG Ingvild Flugstad (NOR), took silver and bronze medal in women sprint classic.
