Biathlon first gold medal in season 2012/13

Past weekend Biathlon athletes showed great performance in Austrian Hochfilzen. Austrian Andreas Birnbacher and Jakov Fak won fisrt World cup gold medal in season 2012/13.
On Friday, the 10 kilometer test, the race started very exciting, because the first and second placed athlete separated by only four tenths of a second. Even more exciting was the men race pursuit, where after the last shooting, five racers from five different countries went in the final round. Jakov Fak with his excellent finish won his first gold medal in World cup at all. The only racer who was following him was Russian Dmitriy Malysko, so Alpina racing team won double victory.
In Quebec performed country skiers where Teodor Peterson the fisrt time in season qualified for the podium, he finished race on the second place.
For Apina racing team this was one more sucessful weekend. Alpina won 16 classifications among top ten, on 6 competitions in two different countries.

First medal for Alpina athletes at the Biathlon World Cup
November 2012
First medal for Alpina athletes at the Biathlon World Cup in Östersund gained Austrian Dominik Landertinger on excellent second place in 20 km individual race. Dominik Landertinger, who is new athlete in Alpina racing team in biathlon World Cup season 2012/13, with excellent shooting and fast race has lagged only 12 seconds behind the winner Martin Fourcad.
Landertinger won the podium in the World Cup and other Alpina athletes suplemented his success. Austrian Friedric Pinter, Norwegian Erland Bjoentegard and Anev Krasimir took place from 6 to 8 in individual race.

First World Cup race in cross-country season 2012-13
November 2012
Last weekend, 24th and 25th november 2012, months long season World Cup cross-country skiing began. As usual, the competition started in Scandinavia. The first scene was Gaellivare in Sweden, where Alpina athletes won great results.
Norvegian Peter Northug won 7th place, Russian Belov Evgeniy 8th, Lukas Bauer 10 th place.
First Women cross country race has given good results, the most successful was Norwegian Skofterud Vibeke W., on 6 th place.
XC World Cup season will continue in Finnland, Kuusamo.
